[Invited Talk] Generation of Terahertz Radiation from a Semiconductor Coupled Multilayer Cavity

(in English) We have proposed GaAs/AlAs coupled multilayer cavity structure as terahertz (THz) emission devices. In thestructure, the two cavity modes are realized in the high reflection stop band, and the strong THz different frequency generation(DFG) signals of the two cavity modes is expected due to the second-order nonlinear optical effect. In this work, we report onthe fabrication of the GaAs/AlAs coupled multilayer cavity structures and the observations of the sum frequency generation (SFG) and THz DFG of the two cavity modes using the excitation of ultrafast laser pulses.
