A study on reproduced area control based on separating emission of carrier and subband waves

(in English) The parametric loudspeaker is ideal candidate to achieve audio system with the super high directivity by using ultrasound. An emitted intense amplitude modulated wave from the parametric loudspeaker is demodulated into the original audible sound in the air. In the frequency domain, the amplitude modulated wave is represented as the composite wave of carrier and sideband waves. This suggests that we can control the demodulation area by separating carrier and sideband waves by using multiple loudspeakers. Therefore, we propose the new reproduced area control method based on separating emission of carrier and sideband waves. In this paper, we also attempt to reduce a harmonic distortion from sideband wave by separating emission of sideband waves. Finally, we confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method through evaluation experiments in real environments.
