Development of Dynamic Light Emitting Marker for Position Detection in Augmented Reality

(in English) Detection of position is an important function in augmented reality. However if the detection is derived from only image processing, computational load is not feasible in mobile devices. In this paper, the authors have studied dynamic light-emitting marker for low load detection by mobile devices with camera. Specifically, we consider the detecting method based on difference image. We use the camera attached to the mobile device and asynchronous dynamic light emitting marker using LED array. Further, we compared the existing method and the proposed method by experiments, and show the low CPU load factor and short processing time of marker detection. This paper also mentioned that it is able to change transmitting information, position, and angle dynamically by the proposed marker.
