Effects of the organic solvents used to PCDTBT/PC71BM active layer on the characteristics of organic solar cell Shizuyasu Ochiai, Santhakumar Kannappan (AIT) OME2012-85 |

In this study, composite active layers of PCDTBT/PC71BM were prepared by using different organic solvents for fabrication of organic solar cell (OSC) devices. Effects of the organic solvents on characteristic of the resulting OSC devices were investigated. Mixture solutions of PCDTBT/PC71BM in different organic solvents were prepared to fabricate composite active layers. Nano-isolated-phase structures in the resulting active layers were supposed after atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis for each active layer variety. Relationship between the supposed nano-isolated-phase structures and current density (J)-voltage (V) characteristics was studied. It was clarified that interpenetrated networking structure in the active layer could play a significant role for short-circuit current (Isc). To achieve high performance of OSC device, stable polymer of PCDTBT in atmosphere was used in combination with a fullerene material of PC71BM having better electron transporting property than PC61BM. Performance of the resulting OSC devices with different composite active layers was investigated comparatively regarding AFM analysis results and J-V characteristic. |
