Investigation of the optical resonant systems of hexagonal GaN microdisks

(in English) The optical resonant systems of hexagonal GaN microdisks with 1 to 2 micron satellite lengths are discussed with numerical analyses and optical evaluations. A finite difference time domain method was employed as numerical analyses to investigate the light response of a microdisk. With optical evaluations, lasing spectra obtained from a microdisk under a high-optically pumped condition were evaluated while breaking its configuration using a laser ablation technique. As the results, we consider that the quasi-whispering gallery modes dominantly act as the light confinement mechanism in a hexagonal GaN microdisk.
