Analysis of emission region on green phosphorescent organic light emitting devices by probe doping method

(in English) In order to clarify the emission region in the CBP: Ir(ppy)3 based small-molecule phosphorescent green light emitting device, we have investigated luminescent characteristics such as luminance, external quantum efficiency (EQE), emission spectra, etc. by employing probe-doping method. In addition, the influence of emission region on the energy distribution of electric dipole radiation has been calculated by the use of original simulation software. It was found that the emission region is located near the cathode interface side. The green device showed a maximum EQE of 17.3% and power efficiency of 39lm/W when the guest Ir(ppy)3 was doped in the range of 15nm in thickness near the cathode side.
