This report describes the overview of the development project of
the ``Silicon concert hall (SiCH)'', which is a real time sound field
renderer. The outline of the sound field rendering and
the implementation on the GPU cluster system are first described.
Using the IWB scheme which is one of the compact explicit finite
difference time domain (CE-FDTD) method, the high accuracy and large-scale
rendering can be achieved. The rendering results are then reproduced
by the 157ch loudspeaker array system. It is confirmed that high
quality and high definition auralization can be realized.
A hardware renderer is next developed on the FPGA system.
It is confirmed that the high speed rendering can be realized
based on the hardware oriented algorithm which achieves the high density
implementation. The sound field lattice gas cellular automaton method
is lastly proposed for another hardware oriented algorithm. |
