(in English) This paper describes an improved method of a virtual unfolded view generation system of the stomach from 3D abdominal CT images.
This system is required to automate unfolding processes to reduce the operator's task.
The previous method of virtual unfolded view generation of the stomach requires the manual operations to determine forces and to judge the end of deformation.
Furthermore the previous method of determination of forces can not unfold the approximate model well for some cases.
We improve the stomach unfolding process by determining forces toward the destinations from the model in the neighborhood of the incision line.
Also we automate determination of forces and judgment of the end of deformation by evaluating degree of deformation of the stomach by using the destinations and the position relationship of vertices of the approximate model.
We applied the proposed method to 19 cases of CT images.
Experimental results showed our method was able to generate the 13 virtual unfolded views that have similar quality compared to the views that was generated manually.
