Presumption of Trajectory Deviations of a Cubesat Orbiting at Very Low Altitude based on Ku-band Beacon Observations

(in English) In Kagoshima University, development of a pico-satellite KSAT2 with a size of 10-cm cube is in progress in cooperation with local companies. This satellite is going to be orbited into an altitude of 400 km, and be affected a big orbital disturbance with the atmospheric drag. Therefore, a Ku-band beacon transmitter is equipped in the satellite for exploring a position of the satellite from the ground. The transmitter has an output of 1~mW and is installed separately from a transmitter for telemetry. Pico-satellite RAIKO equipped with a transmitter about the same with KSAT-2 was launched in the beginning of October, 2012. The satellite development group of Kagoshima University is receiving the Ku-band beacon of this satellite to check the orbit change of the satellite. In this report, situations of the Ku-band beacon reception and the satellite orbit change in the low altitude are shown.
