Huge Magnetoresistance due to Magneto-Electric Effect of Co Nanoparticles in C60-Co Granular Films

(in English) C60-Co granular film is a film where Co nanoparticles are dispersed in C60 matrix. Various researches on magnetoresistance of the C60-Co granular films have been intensively investigated , and it has been clarified that the Coulomb blockade effect of the Co nanoparticles and the higher order co-tunneling effect took place in the system. In this study, we found huge magnetoresistance of 1,400,000 % in the C60-Co granular film and confirmed that the finding is attributed to a novel magnetoelectric effect of the Co nanoparticles, where electric and magnetic fields can individually control the resistance of the system.
