This paper describes a visible-light receiver for LED lights. Hardware issues receive special focus, along with ID format and performance data. Finally, experimental results are discussed. We compared the visible light receiver with an ordinary fluorescent-light -based configuration. To resolve compatibility issues, the basic configuration of the LED device is derived from a standard fluorescent light receiver, but, with modifications to circuit constants, followed by improvements in the signal decoding software; more specifically, -adjustments of the front-end filter circuit and a refinement of the software algorithm used to decode the signal from the LED. Also, the data-transmission format matches that of the fluorescent light. In our experiment, we confirmed that the input light decoding characteristics of the receiver were up to the task of connecting with a guidance system for the blind. |
