A Multi-User Wireless Relaying Scheme based on Discrete Hierarchical Modulation

(in English) We first consider the downlink of a two-user relay system with one BS and one RS. For this scenario, we propose a two-user Superposition Coding (SC) based relaying scheme using discrete Adaptive Modulation. In the proposed method, the messages of the two users are superposed into three layers through Hierarchical Modulation at the BS. We optimize the power allocation of the three SC layers to maximize the sum rate by analysis. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the sum rate compared to reference schemes. Next, we integrate the scheme to a scheduling algorithm for a multi-user cellular system, and show that the proposed scheduler with simultaneous user allocation proves the sum rate and fairness compared to a conventional scheduler based on orthogonal user allocation.
