(in English) In the speech recording, a speech quality is degraded with clipping noise when the amplitude of input signal exceeds the maximum allowance range. Although linear prediction method has been conventionally proposed for removing a clipping noise, it has a problem with degradation of the restoration performance by cumulating error. This paper describes a method for clipping noise suppression of speech based on spectral compensation using weighted spectral envelope on divided frequency bands. The effectiveness of the proposed method was confirmed by the evaluation experiments with the improvement performance of speech quality.
