Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page) 
(in English) Proximity Service (ProSe), which enables user equipment (UE) to discover other UEs in proximity and to communicate directly without passing core network, is being standardized as an important factor of LTE-Advanced in 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). The motivations of introducing ProSe are 1) to provide new services enabler 2) to improve spectral efficiency and to reduce the core network load 3) to support Public Safety functionality. In this paper, we study the ProSe deployment scenarios and their issues, focusing on the improvement of spectral efficiency by introducing ProSe.
