Multilevel modulated chaos-MIMO transmission scheme with adaptive chaos processing

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Securing transmission signals in wireless communications at the physical-layer is important and effective because it can be used as an easy security way in multi-hop or ad-hoc networks without using complex upper-layer secure protocols, or used as a part of the multiple secure protocols for safer communication. We have proposed a chaos-multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmission scheme which enables both the physical-layer encryption by chaos and the channel coding effect in MIMO multiplexing transmission. However, the rate-efficiency is equivalent to BPSK and the faster modulation is needed in chaos-MIMO. Also, the channel coding effect still needs to be improved. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an improved chaos-MIMO scheme which has two or four bit/symbol equivalent to QPSK and 16QAM and has more channel coding gain achieved by an adaptive chaos processing. Improved performances of the proposed scheme are confirmed by computer simulations.
