Measurement of the Degree of ‘Loss of Anonymity’ in Communication Systems

(in English) To evaluate the degree of anonymity in a communication system, Edman et al. proposed a new metric that employs calculation of the permanent of the adjacency matrix [5]. The definition of the metric includes the denominator of log(n!) for normalization, which, according to Iwai, could violate the property of Shannon additivity [11]. This paper extends the analysis and proposes a method of evaluating the degree of “loss of anonymity”, which does not involve normalization and employs a modified permanent-based approach.
