[Invited Talk] Non-Contact Low-Power High-Speed Interfaces with Electromagnetic Near-Field Coupling

(in English) Power-efficient high-speed non-contact interfaces have been developed. Main purpose is the realization of the non-contact connectors which do not have metal terminals. Inductive-coupling technique with small size inductor (from several hundred um to several mm square) and transmission-line coupler which uses electromagnetic near-filed have been intensively studied. The couplers and transceiver circuits have been designed and prototype systems were developed assuming several applications suited for each technique. 2.5Gbps/ch. was achieved by using 1mm size inductive coupling channel and 12.5Gbps has been demonstrated by the evaluation system with 6mm length transmission-line coupler.
