Comparative Analysis Based on Sampled User's Browsing Logs

(in English) This paper describes the effectiveness of considering improvement plan through comparative log analysis of e-commerce websites that sell similar products. To collect logs of website use including rivals, we sampled subjects installing a browser add-on to provide all browsing history for us. Unlike the current mainstream web analytic approach, which uses web bugs, the proposed method has the potential to reveal the weakness of a website in detail by a comparison of uniform website performance metrics. We also discuss the situations in which the proposed method is cost-effective and able to overcome the sparseness.
