On the Adaptability of Virtual Network Topology Control Based on Attractor Selection against Multiple Node Failures

(in English) We have proposed a self-organized virtual topology control method that is adaptive to environmental changes in a network, such as link or node failures or traffic changes, in the previous work. It is based on attractor selection, which models the biological systems that behave adaptively against changes in their surrounding environments. Though we have shown that our method is adaptive to changes in traffic, the ability to withstand or recover from network failures is also a crucial factor for virtual network topology control. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the adaptability of our method to changes in network caused by node failures. The simulation results indicate that our VNT control method based on attractor selection adaptively responds to changes in network environments caused by node failure and constructs operational VNTs in more than 95% of simulation trials when 20% of nodes in the physical network fail simultaneously.
