| (in English) | With the advent of video technology, video resolutions become higher and higher, while the frame size become larger and larger. In face of limited network transmission bandwidth, the conventional end-to-end streaming approach is to throttle sending rate, so that limited network bandwidth can be properly shared among transmitting video contents. Reduction of sending rate, however, causes a proportional degradation in video quality due to signal quantisation, often resulting in unacceptable visual quality of experience.
