[Invited Talk] On the issues of DOA Estimation and Separation for Multiple Speech Signals

(in English) On the issues of direction-of-arrival estimation of multiple sound sources and blind source separation of mixed speech signals are investigated. This survey focuses on a couple of recent research results which have been carried out in our group. Associated with DOA estimation by use of a pair of microphones a phase difference based approach is introduced. This will follow by discussing a general DOA estimation theory for arbitrary sensor configuration system. For solving binaural blind source separation problem our study is exclusively concerned with time-frequency masking algorithm. In particular a series of phase versus frequency frame data is investigated where the classification of frames and DOA estimation have been carried out by applying the principal component analysis as well as by incorporating harmonic structure. Finally, DOA estimation for moving sources and future issues are mentioned.
