MANETs Routing Protocol for Long Life-time Routes using Velocity Vector

(in English) In recent years, mobile terminals have been widely spread, and also their functionalities, for example GPS (global positioning system) functions, have been greatly advanced. Basing on these situations, mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) which consist of only mobile terminals have a great deal of attention. In addition, several routing protocols in consideration of terminal’s mobility performance are proposed. How to adapt to the dynamic change of network topology caused by terminal’s movement is one of important issues for development of MANETs. In this paper, we propose a novel AODV like routing protocol for constructing stable routes by using terminal’s velocity vector data. In this routing scheme, the ideal velocity vector for intermediate nodes is derived from origination/destination terminal’s velocity vector data, and actual intermediate nodes are selected with reference to this ideal velocity vector data. Performance evaluation results are shown by using computer simulations.
