Sensor Placement Optimization Method for Crowd of People Tracking

(in English) Pedestrian flow estimation has become more popular because trajectory and traffic information of people can be utilized for various services. It is important to place sensors appropriately considering the characteristics of geography and pedestrians because flow estimation accuracy strongly depends on measured information from a number of sensors. In this report, we propose a sensor placement optimization method for pedestrian flow estimation on the limited number of sensors. We have validated the capability of the proposed method by simulation. As a result, we have shown that the proposed method enables to derive the sensor placement which provides high estimation accuracy.
