Variation of Cardiac Autonomic Nervous System Activity in Breathing Training

(in English) There have been few studies between cardiac autonomic nervous system (CANS) activities and breathing training. It is the reason why CANS activities are usually measured through frequency spectral analysis. Frequency spectral analysis is inappropriate on breathing training because subjects should be controlled breathing frequency. The purpose of this study is to indicate the effect of breathing training on the variation of CANS activities through Tone-Entropy analysis as compared with breathing training and before and after breathing training trial. In this experiment, Threshold IMT use to conduct breathing training and the twelve subjects were participated. R-R interval were measured five minutes each during voluntary breathing before breathing training trial (V1), breathing training trial (T), former voluntary breathing after breathing training trial (V2) and latter one (V3). Our results show that total of CANS activities were activated during T and V3 trials. HR rose during T trial, it descended during V3. It is concluded that total of CANS activities were activated to rise HR during T parasympathetic nervous system activities were activated to descended HR during V3.
