A Prototype of Endoscopic Photoacoustic Sensor for Measuring the Viscoelastic Properties of Tissues

(in English) Current Endoscopic procedures and techniques allows for the distinction between benign and malignant tumor with the introduction of electronic chromoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound, as well as for the early detection of digestive tract neoplasia. Usually these diagnosis and therapy are carried out in separate devices. The photoacoustic process is a complex energy conversion process, involving optical, thermal and elastic processes. Our goal is to develop a smart endoscpe to perform a variety diagnosis based on the photoacoustic spectroscopy on one device. In this paper, we report our rst study to measure elastic properties of soft tissue phantoms by using Photoacoustic
spectroscopy. The experimental results show that the Photoacoustic signal is proportional to the square root of Young's modules ranges between 30 and 574 kPa in silicone rubber.
