This paper proposes relative mapping schemes for differential space-time block coding, in order to transmit more bits per channel use. The proposed mapping schemes use relative amplitudes and relative phases between phase shift keying (PSK) symbols in a coded block to transmit information bits. The constellations of the proposed mapping scheme have a constant total power of symbols in a coded block, so the transmitted power is constant without power normalization. Since the proposed mapping schemes have a larger minimum distance compared with PSK, they improve the receiver performances. In this paper, we give an example of the proposed mapping schemes in the case of 4b/s/Hz. The computer simulation results show that the proposed mapping scheme improves the bit error performance compared with PSK. |
