Microwave power transmission system, such as a Solar Power Satellite, is attractive because of its capability of a long-distance wireless power transmission. High space transmitting efficiency can be achieved when the Gaussian distribution with edge level -10dB is illuminated to a rectenna cite. However, because the RF-DC conversion efficiency of rectenna element dependent on input power, it is necessary to optimize input power according to the rectenna position in the aperture. In this paper, it is proposed that a design method of compensating the heterogeneity of illumination power density with enlarging rectenna area gradually toward the outside of the aperture. By using this technique, the rectenna arrangement with high RF-DC conversion efficiency can be designed deterministically. |
