In recent years, positioning devices represented by the GPS receivers are loaded in many terminals. Therefore, routing protocol using positional information becomes popular. Geocast communication is an example of the delivery system of the information using positional information. Geocast communication provides effcient group communication services and distributes information to terminals that exist in some geographical domain, and ad-hoc networks are utilize for geocast communication. The ad-hoc network is expected in a time of disaster as the network with the tolerance. In the time of such a disaster, terminals in an ad-hoc network are driving with the battery powered system. Therefore, to extend the network life-time by power-saving of each terminal is one of the important issues in employment of an ad-hoc network. Generally, the power consumption of terminals can be reduced by suppressing the communication radius of each terminal. This paper proposes the method which not only guarantees the reachability of all terminals but also realizes power-saving by minimizing the communication radius of each terminal based on the concept of a target problem. |
