Investigation on Upper Bound of Throughput Performance Using Adaptive Modulation and Coding for MIMO-OFDM

(in English) This paper proposes an upper bound of throughput considering physical layer techniques using adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiplexing. Computer simulation results show that the required average received SNR satisfying the same throughput level using actual AMC is degraded by approximately 3-5 dB compared to that for the proposed upper bound of throughput for maximum Doppler frequency of 55.5 Hz. We also show that the proposed upper bound of throughput is not affected by the number of modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) and propagation channel models with different delay spread and the number of paths. Hence, we conclude that the proposed upper bound of throughput using considering physical layer techniques is applicable to AMC for OFDM-MIMO multiplexing.
