Proposal and Evaluation of a Multi-Ring based Information Sharing Method in Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) In multi-purpose wireless sensor networks, it is redundant and wasteful to construct multiple service networks and conduct message transmission independently among service networks. Regarding an event-driven service, it is difficult for a node to identify a communicating node appropriate for dynamically changing complex condition. To tackle the problem, we consider all-to-all type information sharing and propose an effective method in this paper.
Our proposal is based on a token ring mechanism. It first divides the targeted region into small areas, next constructs a ring in each of areas, then adjusts timing of token emission to avoid intra and inter ring interference, and regenerates a lost token during information sharing. Through simulation experiments, we show that our proposal can accomplish the perfect all-to-all information sharing in about 7.7 sec in a wireless sensor network of 100 nodes.
