This report shows the measurement results for a plasma antenna using a commercially available fluorescent. Applying a U-shaped fluorescent as a radiation element of a monopole antenna can avoid spatial wiring of feed lines for plasma. This configuration achieves ideal antenna performance when plasma is on, and remove influence of undesired scatter when plasma is off. Measurement results of impedance characteristics, radiation characteristics and radiation efficiency are obtained. The impedance characteristics shows that the antenna has resonance frequency corresponding to the physical length of the antenna. Though the radiation efficiency is -3.4dB that is lower than conventional metallic antenna, the radiation pattern is almost the same as conventional one. |
