Research on Wideband Non-Contiguous OFDM Technology

(in English) Recently the demand of mobile communication traffic increases rapidly. In order to deal with this demand, it is required to utilize frequency bands which have not been used yet. However, it is difficult to assign sufficiently large bandwidth at frequencies under 1 GHz. This paper proposes wideband non-contiguous OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) scheme which assigns subcarriers onto many narrow, idle frequency bands and aggregates the subcarriers for high speed data traffic. This paper discusses policies and technical issues that have to be considered in designing a wideband non-contiguous OFDM system, and shows structure of simulator and test equipment and their evaluation results.
