A State Transition Control Method of Space-Time Trellis Codes

(in English) In order to increase resilience against propagation gain variations in wireless communications, space-time trellis codes have been developed. In this study, both the encoder and the decoder are assumed to have the knowledge of the transmission channel conditions. The state transition structure having high error resilience are assigned to the symbols transmitted under bad transmission conditions, and the one having high transmission efficiency are assigned to the symbols transmitted under good transmission conditions. The decoder decodes the symbols of the received frame based on the state transition structures assigned to the symbols. Throughput performances of the schemes are estimated using computer simulations.
