(in English) Tactile maps are used by blind and partially sighted people when
navigating around an environment, they are useful for explaining the
layout of a building or outdoor environment. Tactile Map Automated
Creation System (TMACS) is developed for producing tactile
maps. However,
it is difficult for the visually impaired to read.
The goal of our research is to propose a method for automatic
translating hand-drawn maps to tactile maps.
In this paper, we discuss a pattern recognition method for extracting
and classifying objects of hand-drawn maps.
