In this paper, we propose the automatic detection of bandwidth for WebELS Meeting system to support higher education under low-speed Internet environment. We improved the system with new technique that can switch from video to voice automatically, depending on the network traffic to support the low-speed Internet. The automatic bandwidth detection technique can decrease the data traffic on the client side. When group of users use poor-Internet speed and use two streaming voice and video. Moreover, the new proposed system can check the bandwidth of users every five minutes to control and adapt the streaming during all the meeting using a timer event. The proposed system has been tested in real-time meetings, and the adaptation of the streaming helps participants for better use of the system even in unstable network environment. |
