As we want to clarify an objective evaluation index for negative emotion, biological responses and their relations with subjective evaluation scores were investigated using a noise sound with negative emotion-evoking pictures as stimuli. The subjects were nineteen young adults. Electrocardiogram, plethysmograph, blood pressure, respirogram were measured and analyzed. As a result, the responses of pulse wave amplitude (PWA), systolic blood pressure (SBP), pulse pressure (PP) changed well. However, the responses of heart rate, Mayer wave component and respiratory sinus arrhythmia component of heart rate variability, and others did not change. Further, although PWA, SBP, and PP which correspond to the vasoconstriction of an arteriole, correlated well with the subjective strain scores, these parameters did not correlate with the displeasure scores. As the responses of these biological parameters were due to an activation of skin sympathetic nerve activity, physiological parameters based on skin sympathetic nerve activity may represent an objective evaluation index for strain. |
