In this study, design, fabrication and adjustment method of cavity-type comb-line filters are investigated. First, basic design theory of comb-line filter is reviewed. A new input and output coupling structure is introduced. Then, a three-pole Chebyshev-type comb-line filter is designed and the simulation result is shown. In the next step, a four-pole filter is designed to acquire a higher attenuation. The simulation result shows a better attenuation performance than that of three-pole filter. The four-pole filter is experimentally fabricated. Although the manual tuning is not so easy, it can be carried out with a help of the knowledge obtained from simulation results of performance variations depending on a specific parameter. As a result, a 2GHz-band comb-line filter with 1.75dB insertion loss, more than 10dB return loss and 59.7dB attenuation was realized. |
