The effect of loss-based TCP on the response of mobile broadband networks

(in English) Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is one of widely used protocols in IP network such as the Internet. It is known that a conventional congestion control algorithm doesn’t work well in a large bandwidth-delay product network or a wireless network. We evaluate the performance of some variants of TCP on mobile broadband networks which are becoming increasingly popular. According to experiments on real network, combination of widely used loss-based congestion control algorithms and large buffer of a mobile broadband router cause increasing of the network latency and degrades response of the flows which share the wireless link.
