FDTD Analysis of Radiation from MMIC Passive Components Using GPGPU - No.2

(in English) The problem of accelerating an FDTD solver for radiation from MMIC passive components by using GPGPU(General-Purpose Computing on GPU) techniques is studied. A time harmonic field is used as an excitation. Radiated fields consist of those radiated into the half-space and surface waves scattered along the substrate. For both fields, radiation patterns and total power are evaluated. Tangential electromagnetic fields on a cuboid surface enclosing the passive components are used as the sources for radiated fields, which are obtainable from FDTD analysis of fields for the whole region. Analysis methods and calculation algorithm using GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) are summarized. Discussed also is the algorithm calculating not only the fields in the whole region and source fields but also radiated fields within the GPU device.
