(in English) We have devised an instantaneous frequency measuring method called PRIMO, which does not use
Fourier transform operation. This paper presents the effectiveness of PRIMO in Music Information Processing. We describe the principle of PRIMO by mathematical structure, and evaluate the resolution of frequency changes for Vibrato of instrumental sounds. We intend to compare PRIMO with one of the typical traditional method that is based on Flanagan’s equation. In this paper, we also attempt to focus on fundamental features of PRIMO from the view point of time-frequency resolution, and show the solutions to Flanagan’s method.
