Activities of the supplementary motor area are synchronized to that of the primary motor cortex during complicated bimanual action. In this study, an evaluation method, called Hilbert Huang Coherence, to represent degree of synchronization among multiple signal are proposed. The proposed method is based on the empirical mode decomposition and the Hilbert Huang Transform. The advantages of the method is high resolution in both time domain and frequency domain. Applicability for signals from simple unstable model is confirmed. Furthermore, we apply the method to EEG of multiple electrodes during in phase tapping as simple task and polyrythmic tapping as complex task. However difference between these tasks was not observed. |
