There is a growing need for estimation techniques of human action such as walking, running, standing, and sitting. These techniques are utilized for various daily-life support systems such as supervisory system or healthcare support system. However, existing estimation methods have issues in practical use. For instance, the existing methods have high installation costs of sensors and require daily effort from users to wear. To solve these issues, we propose an estimation method of human action by using a portable device such as a smartphone. In our proposed method, multiple sensors in the portable device collect sensor data related to human actions. Then, our method estimates basic action based on effective combination of the data. In addition, knowledge base technology including action time and location is introduced to enhance its accuracy by combining the knowledge and sensor data processing. From the results of initial experiments with our proposed method. we confirmed that the estimate accuracy of action was different according to the axis of the sensor and data correction. In this paper, we explain the design of our estimation method and the initial experiments with our proposed method. The experimental results show the needs of our proposed method. |
