Study on Antenna Arrangement for MIMO Sensor in Outdoor Environment

(in English) In this report, we investigate the use of the intrusion-detection MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) sensor in the outdoor environment. The antenna arrangement suitable for outdoor MIMO sensor is revealed by the experimentally evaluated results in various environments. A channel correlation that compares the MIMO channels with and without a person is used for the intrusion detection algorithm. The experimental results indicated the intruder detection performance is improved by changing MIMO configuration, yields the intrusion detection performance better than SIMO. Also, the wide element spacing, the antenna height lower than height of targets provide high detection rate. Furthermore, it is confirmed that high detection performance can be obtained when distance between transmitter and receiver is set to within 40 m.
