Improvement of Transient Response of DC-DC Converter with Reference Model
Shota Hirotaki, Fujio Kurokawa (Nagasaki Univ.) EE2013-15
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have already reported digital controlled dc-dc converter using a static model. However, the existing static model has a limitation to improve the transient characteristics. Then, this paper presents the digitally controlled dc-dc converter with reference model. The proposed method is able to obtain superior transient response because it modifies a reference of conventional feedback loop against the change of output voltage. The reference model operates only in the transient state. Therefore, the convergence time of output voltage is improved by 99% compared with the conventional P-I-D method. In addition, the undershoot of output voltage and the overshoot of reactor current are improved by 86% and 77%, respectively.
