Reconstraction simulation for segmentalized base holograms on discrete cosine transform

(in English) Since holography reconstructs the wavefront which is almost identical from real objects, a hologram must be an ideal three-dimensional display. On the other hand, holography requires light modulation device, which the aperture dimention is weve length scale and the number of pixels are very large to diffract light. Such optical modulation device is difficult both to fabricate and to electrically control. In addition, due to the large number of pixels of a hologram, enormous calculation was required for each new picture.
To solve these problems, we have proposed a method for synthesizing 3-dimensional image by superposition of holograms that can reproduce the basis of the discrete cosine transform.
In our previous work, the reconstruction simulation was executed smaller scale to confirm fundamental idea. We increase simulation scale for practical size of image by using a matrix expression in this time. Reconstructed image quality was investigated with changing the number of pixels from $128 × 128$ pixels to $1024 × 1024$ pixels of the base hologram. High-quality image was obtained when the number of pixels of hologram is equal to $512 × 512$ pixels or more.
