A study of the effect of priority resupply on a two-echelon repair system

(in English) In this paper, we propose a realistic model of a two-echelon repairable-item inventory system considering the priority resupply and the order costs. In our model, an order form is issued as a normal order or an emergency order depending on the number of operating items in the base. Emergency order, compared to normal order, is more expensive but has a shorter lead time. Resupply of spare items is not on a first-come-first-served basis but on a priority basis depending on order type. High priority is given to emergency order. Based on these assumptions, we derive the availability of the system in a base, and discuss the optimal order policy which minimizes the total system cost.
