The pulse wave is a displacement wave on the surface skin due to the pressure wave propagating in the vessel. The pulse wave propagates through the vessels so that it is influenced by the stiffness of vessels. We have focused on the pulse wave and tried to estimate the stiffness of vessels. Here, 1D theoretical model was applied to evaluate the average stiffness. In this study, we measured the regional stiffness and the average stiffness of an artificial vessel model made of polyurethane. In addition, we evaluated the Young’s modulus of the polyurethane by a tensile test. |
