Consideration of Efficient Data Communication Method using Dynamic Switching Compression Method

(in English) As a method for reducing the load on network communication, the real time data compression is a promising technique.
However, the compression ratio attained by the real time data compression algorithm is generally low as compared to usual data compression algorithms that are not designed for real time processing.
When the data can be compressed by the algorithm that can attain the higher compression ratio as long as the time required for compression processing is not a bottleneck of communication, the load on the bandwidth of communication network can be reduced further.
In this paper, we investigate an adaptive control method of dynamic switching the compression method/level, that can select the most suitable compression method, for various type of input data and available communication bandwidth that changes from time to time, as long as the time required for compression processing is not a bottleneck of communication.
The evaluation results show that our method can select the most suitable compression method, for various type of input data and available communication bandwidth that changes from time to time.
