Non-volatile networking for large scale disaster

(in English) In this paper, we propose non-volatile networking which enables smooth
communication even when network is seriously damaged due to quite
heavy load of traffic or power failure under the situation of
large-scale disaster.
Under the large-scale disaster, failure of communication continue for
a long time because communication demand is drastically and
continuously increased too much. To cope with such a rough situation,
DTN (Delay Tolerant Networking) technology was proposed. DTN makes it
enable to transfer data bundle by storing and forwarding at relay
node. By utilizing DTN, some disaster-resilient communication schemes
are proposed, but due to its one-way data transfer nature of DTN, it
is difficult to utilize DTN to bi-directional communication such as
safety confirmation or information retrieval.
To solve the above problem, we propose non-volatile networking
technique. The non-volatile networking enables a user to to disconnect
a mobile terminal from network while waiting the response from a
server by keeping both a request and a response on network. In this
paper, we describe core technologies of non-volatile networking.
