Demonstration of the portable EDFA in optical packet and circuit integrated network

(in English) For disaster recovery, prompt restoration of the optical fiber network to accommodate data traffic is essential.
Many disaster recovery scenarios and recently been investigated. Here, we report the results of a trial product of a portable EDFA using a transient-suppression technique to utilize surviving fiber links and exchanges and to bypass destroyed nodes to enable basic operation of optical fiber networks.
We believe that the Portable EDFA will be a powerful tool for the short-term recovery of optical fiber links in remote-areas.
